Lights are a big deal during the holidays. We decorate our houses with them, we decorate our trees and yards. We light candles to count Advent weeks or Hanukkah nights. Light helps us see in darkness. Especially in tough, "dark" economic times, we could maybe use a little light.

Did you know that you can share job postings you find on EmploymentGuide.com with your friends? It's a simple feature but since in times when the job market is like this, our personal and professional networks seem to be that much more important. So why no be a little light for someone you know who is looking for a job? Underneath the Apply Now button, you will see the "Share with Anyone" links. Click that and select the network you'd like to share this job with. Or email it directly to a friend. It may not seem like much but sometimes it's the littlest things that make the biggest difference. Even the tiniest flame can light up an entire room.

You may also want to check out these tips on how to be a light for the earth and making your holiday a little more green.

May you find joy and peace this Holiday season! Best wishes from The Employment Guide in Atlanta!

Mashable came out with an excellent resource for their Career Toolbox: 100+ resources to find a job. They break out resources into categories. Particularly useful is the General Tools at the bottom of the list that will help you research companies using things like LinkedIn and Salary.com. But there are several others that I didn't know about as well and definitely worth checking out. So we thought we'd create our own Career Toolbox, additions if you will, to give you a run down of what we've got to offer and who we'd benefit. We've got a great array of web real estate that will cater to your job searching needs. Check them out there:

Health Care and Medical Jobs

Talk about the economy and recession can get pretty negative. There have been a lot of cutbacks, layoffs and even some hiring freezes going on and it leaves a lot in employment left uncertain. So what do you do if you feel your job might be in danger of one of those cutbacks? Well sometimes being prepared means anticipating the worst. For some people that means discreetly looking for another job as a precautionary measure.

U.S. News and World Report published an article on How to Find a Fallback Job that provides tips on how to do just that. They offer some great points on how to be discreet and to not give your current employer a reason to cut your position all the while remaining prepared in case that happens. There's a lot to be said about being prepared but don't let it get to you either. Staying positive also has a huge impact on your employment and job hunting situation.

So sound off Atlanta - what do you think? Give us more of your tips on being prepared!
