How to move on from a disappointment at work:

  1. Acknowledge: It’s OK to be disappointed. Losing a sale or not getting a position can be very disappointing; don’t put on a happy face for others. It’s ok to have a less than happy demeanor
  2. Be Respectful: Although you may be disappointed and you may act disappointed, make sure your actions and demeanor are professional. Do not engage in hostility or be disruptive. People will understand disappointment but many companies will not tolerate hostility.
  3. Move On: Take the appropriate amount of time you need to be ok with the decision, but move on. Don’t dwell too long, move on and make the best of the situation.
